Suniel Shetty

Born on the 11th of August 1961, Suniel Shetty is an eminent Bollywood actor, who holds identity as an action-hero.He is a Tulu speaking guy born in Mulki, India. Suniel first came to Mumbai when his father planned to open up a restaurant in the suburb. Suniel fondly known as Anna by his close ones completed his education in Mumbai itself along with gaining a 'black belt' title in kick-boxing.

Getting in sheer physique, Suniel was meant for the big screen for sure. Working his hand in his father's restaurant, Anna was well spotted by the a filmmaker who ended up casting him as the lead in the 1992 release 'Balwan'. The tall, dark, muscled hunk debuted his first with then cute, bubbly actress late. Divya Bharti. The film eventually failed to create a buzz, but the hunk was noticeable throughout the industry. Destiny played games with Anna in his next 'Waqt Hamara Hai' which proved an average grosser of that time.

But as destiny had, Anna shined at his best with his first release in 1994, 'Mohra' alongside Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon. The film proved to be a mass entertainer, thus Suniel became an over night star. Being experimental right from his beginning, Suniel was next seen essaying a double role in the comic caper 'Gopi Kishan', which too lure the audiences and marked Anna as a versatile actor.

Eventually Anna established himself as an actor and later transformed himself as the gen next action hero. With his back to back action packed ventures like 'Anth', 'Suraksha', 'Takkar', 'Rakshak', 'Krishna' and 'Sapoot' purely crafted the muscle man to be the sheer action star. The year 1997 proved even more successful for the star commencing with then super hit 'Border'. The film being a multi-starrer, is well versed remembered for mind trenching performance of this south oriented actor. Then continued the league adjoining other flicks as well like 'Bhai', 'Prithvi', 'Qahar', 'Aakrosh', 'Vinashak', 'Bade Dilwala' and 'Krodh'.

Merely as life spins back, Anna was once again went back to comedy after a long gap consisting back to back action genres. The year 2000 showcased a different side of Shetty starting off with out and out comic flick 'Hera Pheri' along with Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal. Then came the actual challenge of playing an intense lover Dev in his next 'Dhadkan' that also grabbed the actor his first Filmfare Award but in a negative role instead.

After being so experimental and been cornily appreciated, Anna tried his hands in regional cinemas as well. He didn't essayed lead characters in any of them but gave a special appearance in Tamil film '12 B' as well as in 'Kakkakuyil' in Malayalam.

Till now, Suniel Shetty had been able to create a strong fan base, he started to play with his persona by acting in several films which offered the actor in a new genre all time he faced the audiences. Well though being a star, Suniel himself is also an entrepreneur owning a restaurant chain along with a clothing boutique. Anna also is a proud owner of a production house called Popcorn Motion Pictures Pvt. Ltd. which produced flicks like 'Khel', 'Rakht' and 'Bhagam Bhag'.

Leading a successful stardom and fame, Suniel is happily married to Mana Shetty, who as well runs an NGO for underprivileged kids. Apart from being a reliable husband, Anna is a proud father of two adorable kids Athiya Shetty and Ahan.
