The film's first track, ‘Aga Naga’, will be released on March 20. The song s written by AR Rahman and is performed by Shakthisree Gopalan. The lyrics were penned by Ilango Krishnan. The announcement poster depicts Trisha as Kundavai standing with a sword and Karthi's vandhiyathevan kneeling with his eyes chained shut. The song will also be released in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
Mani Ratnam, Elango Kumaravel, and B Jeyamohan adapted the film from Kalki Krishnamurthy's novel. Ponniyin Selvan was directed by Ravi Varman and produced by Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions. AR Rahman composed the music. Editor A Sreekar Prasad and production designer Thota Tharani are among the technical staff members. Ponniyin Selvan 2 will be released in theatres globally on April 28, 2023.
