The film and its creators were strongly criticised for their interpretation of 'Ramayan.' Everything, from the visual effects to the dialouge, pleaded for a tremendous backlash. Furthermore, writer Manoj Muntashir's words defending 'Adipurush' fueled public outrage. Manoj Muntashir has now issued an apology, days after the release.
