Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha ’s film ‘ Ittefaq ’ with Akshaye Khanna in the pivotal roles is being co-produced by Dharma Productions and Red Chillies Entertainment along with BR Studios. It is an adaptation of the 1969 movie of the same name by late Yash Chopra . But there’s a buzz that producers from South cinema have already expressed their interest in remaking the movie and the South makers want to acquire rights of the newer version.

A source related to the film said, “ Abhay Chopra and Juno Chopra have been approached by a few South makers to sell the rights to their film. They want to remake the film in Telugu. Abhay and Juno have had several discussions and are also keen to give the producers the right to remake.”

“Abhay and Juno won’t be making the film down South. Filmmakers from South have loved the promos and shown interest in the modern, more contemporary storyline,” the source added.

Though this movie is an adaptation of the previous film, it is said to be a little different from the 1969s' version. As it would be exciting for the audiences to witness the new crime thriller, it will surely excite us even more if the film IS ever made in the Telugu language.
