Sanjay Leela Bhansali trades 'Gabbar' and Mary Kom biopic in Rs. 124 crore

The director Sanjay Leela Bhansali seems to be on a riding wave as a filmmaker and a producer. Post the grand success of blockbuster \'Rowdy Rathore\' directed by Prabhu Deva, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is all geared up with his two fresh forthcoming ventures. These projects of Bhansali got sold to a leading production house for a whopping price.

The latest reports say that the two movies produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali - Mary Kom biopic and \'Gabbar\' have been purchased by Viacom Motion Pictures for Rs. 124 crore tentatively. Post the debate and discussion, Viacom sealed the deal. Viacom is well-known for backing various types of cinema. An assortment of recent movies were released under the banner of Viacom, such as \'Gangs Of Wasseypur\', \'Tanu Weds Manu\', \'Kahaani\' and \'OMG Oh My God!\'. Also the upcoming sports-flick \'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag\' will be releasing under the same banner.

The COO of Viacom Motion Pictures, Ajit Andhare verified the news saying that they always hunt for content-enriched films. Working together and performing something exciting matters a lot than the actual deal, says the COO.

Akshay Kumar will be featuring in lead role in the film \'Gabbar\'. After \'OMG Oh My God!\', this would be second association between Akki and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Yet untitled Mary Kom biopic staring Priyanka Chopra will see the actress enacting the character of eminent international boxing champion.
