' Cocktail ', produced by Saif's banner Illuminati Films , is an upcoming romantic comedy film that stars Saif Ali Khan , Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty in the lead roles. Dimple Kapadia , Randeep Hooda and Boman Irani are also in important roles. The film is directed by Homi Adajania and is slated to be released on July 13.

Deepika has played the role of a modern, defiant and self-assured girl called Veronica D'Costa. In a recent interview, she has said that initially she was nervous about playing Veronica, when the role was offered to her. She was quite uncertain whether she could do justice with the role. But after getting Imtiaz Ali 's suggestion, who has written the script, she got confidence that yes she could pull it off!

The actress was quoted saying, "While I felt that Veronica was a lot more exciting and challenging to play as a character, I was also nervous about whether I would be able to pull it off. But it was Imtiaz Ali , the writer of our film, who suggested I play the role."

By watching the trailers of ' Cocktail ', it seems that she has pulled her character in the movie quite well!
