Chitrangada Singh Biography

The B - Town has found a talented and versatile actress in a form of charming and beautiful Chitrangada Singh. Famous for looking alike talented actress late Smita Patil , Chitrangada also has followed the footsteps of late Smita Patil in the field of performing arts. Like late Smita Patil, the dusky beauty Chitrangada also has delivered an outstanding performance in her various films like 'Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi ' , 'Yeh Saali Zindagi' , 'Joker' and 'Inkaar' etc.

Born in the army background , Chitrangada was interested in acting and modeling since her childhood. Her father is an Army officer. Her brother Digvijay Singh is a renowned golf player while Chitrangada has married to another well known golf player Jyoti Randhwa. When the gorgeous Chitrangada was in the 9th STD, she was approached by a documentary film director for the childhood role of late Smita Patil. This was her first experience of acting. She took Katthak lessons for that.

She finished her higher studies from Lady Irwin College in New Delhi and after that she started doing theatre plays and modeling assignments. The dusky beauty has appeared in the commercial advertisements of Alukkas Jewellery and ICICI Bank. She has performed in some music videos also. Her music videos include 'Sunset Point' by veteran lyricist Gulzar and a music video by famous singer Abhijeet. It is then she was approached by Sudhir Mishra for his film 'Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi'. Her character of Geeta Rao in this movie gave her a lot of critical acclaim.

Chitrangada is famous for acting in parallel cinemas and art films. She took a break from acting after her marriage. But then she made her comeback in the tinsel town through a film 'Sorry Bhai' which was not proved to be successful at the box office. But in her next film, Sudhir Mishra's 'Yeh Saali Zindagi', she again got praises from everybody. The charming and beautiful Chitrangada was also seen a glam avatar in Rohit Dhawan's 'Desi Boyz'. Her performance in the film 'Inkaar' opposite Arjun Rampal was also well received. A mother of one cute young boy, Chitrangada is a brand ambassador for Aliva , Taj Mahal Tea, Airtel, Parachute, Garnier and Puma. She is also an active supporter of Animal Rights. Chitrangada was recently seen in the film 'I, Me Aur Main' with John Abraham and Prachi Desai. She will be next seen in the films like 'Aur Devdas' directed by Sudhir Mishra starring Shiney Ahuja and Lara Dutta ,'Nawab The Nautch Girl And The John Company' also by Sudhir Mishra starring Irrfan khan and 'Mehrunissa' again by Sudhir Mishra starring Rishi Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan.
