In an interview, Johar said that he wanted to launch Lakshya with Kill as a gentle reminder to people who call him the 'nepo mafia.' He said that the film is a very expensive production that is entirely mounted on Lakshya, and that Dharma Productions has put all of its money and risk into it. Johar also said that Lakshya went through auditions to bag the role and worked hard for it.
Johar also addressed the criticism that he often receives. He said that he understands why people hate him, and that he is okay with it. He said that he is a very public figure and that he is often seen in the media, which can be annoying to people who don't know him personally. However, he urged his haters to give him the benefit of the doubt.
'Kill' is written and directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat. The film also stars Tanya Maniktala.
