Babita

Born on the 20th of April 1948 in a Sindhi family of the actor Hari Shivdasani, Babita grew up nurturing with her Hindu father and Catholic mother in Mumbai. Her family being involved in the tinseltown already, with father as an actor and cousin Sadhana enjoying success as an actress, inspired Babita to be a part of the industry.

Getting influenced by her father, the veteran producer G.P. Sippy organized a screen test and later selected the beauty Babita to be casted in his film 'Dus Lakh', marking her debut in the year 1966. As the film gained appreciation, the beauty too received applaud on similar.

Further continuing to charm the viewers, Babita appeared on the silver screen in the films like 'Raaz' (1967), 'Farz', 'Kismet', 'Hasina Man Jayegi', 'Tumse Achcha Kaun Hai','Doli', 'Anjaana', 'Kab ? Kyon ? Aur Kahan ?', 'Pehchan', 'Kal Aaj Aur Kal', 'Bikhre Moti', 'Ban Phool', 'Jeet', 'Ek Hasina Do Diwane' and 'Sone Ke Haath'.

Nurturing a petite filmy career of just nineteen films, Babita then got herself hitched to the co-star Randhir Kapoor at the age of 23 years and became a member of the famous "Kapoor Dynasty". As a trend of non-working females ran in the Kapoor family, Babita had to wave off to her filmy career permanently.

Focusing more on her family and husband, Babita lead a happy life along with the now actress daughters Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor. Creating a great bond with sister-in-law Neetu Singh, brother-in-law Rishi Kapoor, father-in-law Raj Kapoor, Babita got very much divulged into the family, until she took a stand against the Kapoor norm and took a foot ahead in support of her elder daughter Karisma Kapoor, to pursue her career in acting.

Post her elder daughter enjoyed maximum of prosperity in B-Town, the younger daughter Kareena Kapoor too basked in to spread her marvels in the industry. Getting renowned by the names of her pretty daughters, Babita now enjoys the joy of being a grandma to Karisma's toddlers.
