Tushar Hiranandani directs the series, which is overseen by Hansal Mehta. Gagan Dev Riar plays the famed counterfeiter in the series.
The plot focuses around Abdul Karim Telgi, who masterminded a Rs. 30,000 crore stamp paper fraud. SonyLIV recently took to social media to announce the release date of the second instalment of the series, as well as a new trailer.

The long-awaited trailer for ‘Scam 2003: The Telgi Story Volume 2’ has arrived, with Gagan Dev Riar continuing the story of scams, money, and excitement. The remaining episodes of the series, helmed by Tushar Hiranandani, will be available for streaming beginning November 3.

The SonyLIV series revolves around Abdul Karim Telgi, a fruit vendor from Khanapur, Karnataka, who was allegedly involved in the INR 30,000 crore fraudulent stamp paper incident in 2003. In the series, Gagan Dev Riar is accompanied by a remarkable ensemble cast that includes Hemang Vyas, Mukesh Tiwari, Sana Amin Sheikh, Bharat Jadhav, Shaad Randhawa, Shashank Ketkar, Dinesh Lal Yadav, Sameer Dharmadikari, Nandu Madhav, Bhavana Balsavar, and others. Sanjay Singh's book Ek Reporter Ki Diary, ‘Scam 2003: The Telgi Story’ inspired the series. On September 1, the first volume was released.
The first season of the Scam series, titled ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story,’ was directed by Pratik Gandhi and premiered in 2020. Hansal Mehta directed the series.
