The Fame Game, starring Madhuri Dixit, became a smashing hit in its debut season. Sanjay Kapoor, Manav Kaul, Suhasini Mulay, Lakshvir Saran, and Muskkaan Jaferi all played significant roles in the thriller drama directed by Bejoy Nambiar and Karishma Kohli. The show left viewers wanting more and promising a second installment. Fans were excited to learn more about the second season of the show because it received so many favorable reviews from both reviewers and spectators. Recently, there were reports around that Netflix has canceled The Fame Game: The Sequel and has decided on dropping the second season from its catalog.
In a recent interview, Sanjay Kapoor denied the rumors that the sequel had been postponed. According to him, such rumors just serve to highlight how popular and profitable the show is. He said, “The great thing is, when such rumors pop up, it means that the show is very successful and people want to know what is happening. It is such a successful show and the very fact that people are talking about it proves that it is very relevant.”
When asked about the shoot for season 2, he replied, “It is a procedure and there is no script to shoot for. As actors, we don’t know much, because we are not aware of what Netflix is planning. Till the time the script is not ready, how can we start shooting? It is going to take time, till then these are just rumors.”
Meanwhile, Madhuri is currently judging the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10 alongside Nora Fatehi and Karan Johar.
