Samantha, one of the leading actresses working in Telugu cinema, made her digital debut with Amazon Prime Video’s highly successful show The Family Man 2 (2021), and won rave reviews for her powerful act in it.
Pointing out that Rajalakshmi Sekharan a.k.a. Raji, her character in the critically acclaimed show, was the most vulnerable and challenging role for her, the award-winning actress said that she sought a lot of handholding and training to play the part perfectly.
Samantha was participating in an in-conversation session on 'Creating Cult Icons: India's own James Bond with The Family Man', held on the sidelines of the ongoing 52nd International Film Festival of India in Goa.
“Raji was so new, unique and exciting. It allowed me to explore a new dimension and the actor in me couldn't refuse this challenge,” said the actress.
She continued, “It is very difficult to engage the audience of a web series as we have to overcome many hurdles. The control is always at the hands of the audience.”
Created by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, The Family Man 2 also starred Manoj Bajpayee and Priyamani in the lead characters. The director duo also participated in the session along with Amazon Prime India Originals head Aparna Purohit.
