In Netflix's upcoming revenge drama, CAT, Randeep Hooda will play an undercover spy. Balwinder Singh Janjua, who has previously written films such as Saand Ki Aankh (2019) and Mubarakan (2017), directs the film.
Randeep, whose most recent Netflix project was the Chris Hemsworth starrer Extraction (2020), plays a man who becomes entangled in a drug trafficking conspiracy involving gang lords, cops, and political powers. According to the film’s poster, which was released on Monday, Randeep appears to be playing a turban-clad character set in the Punjab hinterlands.
CAT is a crime thriller set in the Punjab countryside that follows an innocent man. He is dragged into a complicated drug-trafficking scandal involving gangsters, cops, and political figures.
Speaking about his second venture with Netflix and the show CAT, Randeep Hooda said, “Working with Netflix is always a pleasure. I had a tremendous time during Extraction and the love it got me from around the world was phenomenal. CAT again has all the elements to appeal to a global audience. It has given me an opportunity to explore new facets as an actor in a simple but intriguing script. Can’t wait to see the audience reaction to the series.”
Taking to his Instagram handle Hooda wrote, "Where do you go when there's nowhere to hide? I couldn’t be more excited to announce #CAT, where drugs, deceit, and danger come together to unravel chaos. Coming soon on netflix_in. ????"
Balwinder Singh Janjua and Randeep Hooda also collaborated for Tera Kya Hoga Lovely, a social comedy film.
