SIMON BARRY

Simon Barry, the show's creator, tweeted about the news to confirm it. He posted on Twitter, saying: "I've just found out that

netflix will not be renewing #WarriorNun - my sincere appreciation to all the fans who worked so hard to bring awareness to this series, and for the love, you showed me, the cast and the whole production team. It was a privilege to be a part of this."

NETFLIX CANCELED WARRIOR NUN

The programme has garnered a significant fan base and a tonne of favourable reviews since its debut, but it wasn't enough to sustain it for a second season. Only three weeks of Season 2's weekly top 10 English-language Netflix rankings saw it peak at number five.

Warrior Nun's second-season rating performance similarly mirrors the pattern of earlier shows that Netflix has cancelled, as the streaming giant considers watching time vs expense when determining whether to keep a performance going.

ABOUT WARRIOR NUN

For those who are unaware, "Warrior Nun" is based on Ben Dunn's original Warrior Nun Areala comic book character. The main character of the show is 19-year-old Ava Silva (played by Alba Baptista), who wakes up in a morgue with a new life and a heavenly object implanted in her back. She learns that she has joined a long-forgotten order tasked with battling demons on Earth. In addition, the series included Toya Turner, Sylvia De Fanti, Lorena Andrea, Kristina Tonteri-Young, and Olivia Delcan.

The TV show was created by Simon Barry. Along with Stephen Hegyes and David Hayter, he also served as showrunner and executive producer. Terri Hughes Burton served as a co-executive producer in addition to consulting producer Amy Berg.
