When Farooq Shaikh took over as host of ZEE TV's Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai, the audience flocked to the screens, not only for the celebrity appearances who joined the show but also for Shaikh, who made an excellent and admirable host. He was warm and inviting, and he made conversations with the celebrities so enjoyable and interacting that even the audiences could sense his friendly demeanor.

Many stars of the time, including Shah Rukh Khan, Sushmita Sen, Aishwarya Rai, Karisma Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, and others, appeared on the show in the early 2000s, but Shaikh's favorite episode was the one in which he hosted Sanjay Dutt. Shaikh admitted that an hour was not enough time to delve into a celebrity's life, and most of them were wary of trying to discuss their traumas and controversies, but this was not the situation with Dutt.

In a press conference with Tribune India in 2002, Shaikh stated that "Sanjay Dutt's was the most touching episode," in his opinion. For the uninitiated, the episode featured Sanjay discussing his drug problem, incarceration, the death of his mother, and a variety of other personal stories. His father, actor Sunil Dutt, appeared in the episode and recalled how, when Sanjay was imprisoned, he would keep driving around the jail just to be near his son. It was without a doubt one of the most effective episodes of Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai.

Here’s the video of Farooq Shaikh with Sanjay Dutt from the series Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai:

"His telephone conversation with his daughter in the United States, his drug and alcohol abuse, his possession of a gun and weapons, and his prison days under TADA — all of this was discussed," Shaikh said. Sunil Dutt also made an appearance on the show. Sanju admitted that he had made mistakes in his life. Despite the repeated tragedies, he said he has worked hard to rebuild it. His life serves as an example for young people who give up easily when confronted with difficulties. He has fallen many times, but he has always gathered his strength and stood up again."

Sanjay was open and honest about his life, and Shaikh managed to get him to open up about the many wrong decisions he had made in the past without humiliating the actor or his family directly.
