'Tere Ishq Mein Ghayal', a new fictional drama series, marks Shilpa Agnihotri's return to television. (TIMG). Inspire Films, run by Yash and Mamta Patnaik, is the production company for the programme. She portrays Sudha, Sameer's wife, in the movie. (Nikkhil Arya). The story emphasises how Veer attacks and murders Sudha, a joyful spirit. Shilpa discusses her character, the program, and other topics.
“The title of Tere Ishq… makes me think of wounded love… something very deep,” she continues about what makes the show unique, “I think the VFX of the show is its USP. Characters have been well-etched and have the right tune in with each other. Also, the way it's being shot beautifully. There is a method to this madness which makes the entire concept and presentation amazing, stylish.”
Shilpa said that she is not familiar with her character. “I think in time, I will know much more. We have just started and there is a way to go,” she smiles. About the much-talked-about huge star cast of the show, she adds, “Well, of course when you see the poster you only know of the three brilliant actors that are there in the show as the leads. But once I reached the set, I got to know about the remaining fabulous ensemble cast of TIMG. And, I was very glad to work with them,” the actress said.
The production value of the show is extremely good. She also reveals why. “Definitely any show that involves VFX and that too this well is bound to stand ahead in the race. Everything here is being done on a much larger scale.”
She also compliments the team Inspire Films. “It's great. The production was fabulous to me because I'm reporting on the set with my five-month-old daughter (Ishaani Kanu). So everybody has been wonderful to me. They are also extremely accommodating with my number of hours so I'm really thankful to God that I have a great team to work with,” she adds. The trend of thriller and mystery shows is here to stay. “These genres have a niche audience that always comes back for shows like these. My husband (Apurva Agnihotri; actor) are also fans and watch a lot of international shows belonging to these genres. Such shows have a charm of their own and keep the interest level going till the end,” shares the new mother.
Regarding the performers she holds most dear and who she regards as her guide, Shilpa continues, “I did a show called Lavanya, which was for Zee TV, many moons back. I think I related the most to that character because it was very much like me. So I'm going to pick Lavanya out of all that I've done so far. Also, I wouldn't say mentor or guide, but I definitely attribute a part of my existence in the industry to Ekta Kapoor. All thanks to her for the support and guidance she has provided.”
So who is her greatest critic? “I hoped that my husband would be my greatest critic, but he is my biggest admirer (smiles). So I guess I'm lucky in that aspect,” smiles again. Showering more praises on her better half and how together they stay positive, she adds, “Apurva and I celebrate life every single day by thanking God for being there for us. We also say thanks for every single breath that we take, being healthy and happy. Life is a celebration for us every day.”
