For many years, ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ has been a popular comic programme. Since 2008, to be exact, the programme has been a fan favourite on television. But over the past two months, the show has drawn a lot of unfavourable attention. From Shailesh Lodha's departure to the court lawsuit alleging non-payment of dues, ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ producer Asit Modi is now facing a sexual harassment charge. In an allegation of sexual harassment, Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal has launched a lawsuit against the show's producers. Following the charges, a statement from the producers alleged that Jennifer lacked attention, was indisciplined, and had an abusive personality. Malav Rajda, the show's former director, has now endorsed Jennifer.
When he used to work on the show, Malav Rajda claimed Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal was quite well-behaved and jovial. He claimed that during his 14 years of production work on the show, Jennifer never misbehaved or abused anyone on the sets. He is reported, "Jennifer is one of the most jovial people on the sets. She is a happy-go-lucky person and gelled well with everyone. Be it the technical team, direction team, DOP, hair and makeup, or the co-stars, she was on good terms with everyone on the sets with everyone. I’ve been on the sets for 14 years, and Jennifer has never misbehaved with anyone ever in front of me. She has never ever been abusive on the sets."
He referred to the sets as "male-chauvinistic" before, when Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal recounted her side of the incident. The actor who portrays Mr. Bhide, Mandar Chandwadkar, refuted her assertions. Later, Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal voiced her dissatisfaction with Mandar and even hinted that he is aware of the whole truth. Even referring to him as a close friend, she expressed amazement at his assertion.
Mrs. Roshan Singh Sodhi was played by Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal in the television programme. She left the show after being allegedly humiliated and refused a half-day on her anniversary. The situation is currently being looked into.
