The writers of Wagle Ki Duniya are developing plots that reflect the different societal outliers that most women have encountered at least once throughout their lives. Rajesh Wagle's actor, Sumeet Raghavan, discusses how having a father on television has changed his perspective on women's safety.
"I believe one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences a person can have is being a parent. In both real life and on screen, I've had the pleasure of raising my beautiful daughter Deeya and, of course, Chinmayee Salvi in Wagle Ki Duniya. Being a father to a daughter is a very delicate process since daughters are the hardest to let go of. I place the utmost importance on our recent episodes since they shed light on a problem with women's safety that is very common. In my opinion, it is crucial for us to educate our sons in addition to protecting our daughters as parents. To ensure that our kids make meaningful contributions to society, we need to lead by example." Declares Sumeet.
"We have long suffered as a community with women's safety, and increasing awareness is an important first step in solving the issue. People won't make an attempt to change it until they are aware of the discomfort that women experience on a regular basis "He continues.
Sumeet is adamant that we should pay attention to the women in our lives when they express discomfort and make sure to address their issues and give them a sense of being heard. He also emphasises the need for families to provide a secure environment in which members may express their feelings and communicate about them.
"Our homes are where learning begins. Our kids need to learn how to respect others and be aware of their environment. As a father, I will always be concerned about the security of my daughter, but I'm confident that if we all work together, the world can be a safer place for our women. It is past time we started paying more attention to how kids are made to feel. The only way we can accomplish it is by working together." He says it again.
