Sonali Phogat, a BJP activist and Bigg Boss 14 participant, passed away on Monday in Goa after suffering a cardiac arrest, according to police officials. Sonali reportedly told her staff that she felt uneasy and they brought her to the hospital. The autopsy is being performed, and the local police are en route to the hospital, according to the report.
From the Haryana village of Bhuthan, Sonali Phogat's parents are travelling to Goa. Her spouse Sanjay Phogat was found dead at a farmhouse in 2016.
Phogat was born and raised in a middle-class family In the village of Bhuthan in Haryana's Fatehabad. She ran against Kuldeep Bishnoi, who had recently moved from the Congress to the BJP, in the Haryana assembly election of 2019 from the Adampur constituency. Bishnoi made camaraderie with Sonali Phogat after stepping down as the Adampur legislator.
Sonali Phogat gained prominence as a contestant on Bigg Boss 14 as a wild card entrant.
Two years ago, Sonali Phogat ran into trouble after hitting a member of the Balsamand market secretary Sultan Singh. It is said that she beat him up while accusing him of assaulting her and throwing things at her.
