R.I.P: Gashmeer Mahajani’s Father, Actor Ravindra Mahajani Found Dead At His Apartment (Details Inside)

Veteran Marathi actor Ravindra Mahajani (77), who lived in Ambi village, Maval taluka, close to Talegaon Dabhade, was discovered dead on Friday. The actor maintained a long period of solitude.

On Friday at around 4.30 p.m., neighbors who noticed a bad odor coming from the apartment called the Talegaon MIDC police station. The apartment was locked from the inside when a police squad arrived shortly after. In the presence of nearby neighbours, the officers pushed through the door, went inside, and found Mahajani's body there. The owner of the apartment recognized the deceased as Mahajani, according to the police.

TOI quoted, Senior Inspector Shivaji Gaware, "Our team broke the door and found Mahajani dead inside the flat. The body was sent to Talegaon Dabhade hospital for autopsy."

Senior Inspector Ranjit Sawant of the Talegaon MIDC police reportedly disclosed that the doctors think Mahajani passed away three days ago. For the previous eight months, "He was living alone," Sawant added.

Due to his likeness to the legendary actor Vinod Khanna, he was referred to as the 'Vinod Khanna of the Marathi film industry'. He was selected for the 1986 movie 'Ankush' by director N. Chandra because of his resemblance to Vinod Khanna.

The love songs ‘Ha Sagar Kinara’, ‘Sumbaran Gao Deva’, and ‘Phite Andharache Jaale’ were all produced by Mahajani. His movie ‘Devta’ is popular with people in rural areas. His performances in movies like 'Duniya Kari Salam' (1979), ‘Mumbai cha Fauzdar’ (1984), ‘Zoonj’ (1989), ‘Kalat Nakalat’ (1990), and ‘Aaram haram Ahe’ have made him well-known. In contrast to Laxmi Chi Pavale, the latter was a success at the box office. 'Kay Rao Tumhi', a film, marked his comeback in 2015. Gashmeer Mahajani, who is also an actor, is his son.

Gashmeer Mahajani, the son of Ravindra Mahajani, is well-known in the television and Marathi film industries. The actor most recently garnered media attention when he participated in the dancing reality competition ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja’. Gashmeer was also a part of the well-known TV serial ‘Imlie’ and ‘Tere Ishq Mein Ghayal’.
