Eijaz Khan, who won rare reviews for his portrayal of Senior Inspector Wasim Khan in Nagesh Kukunoor's City of Dreams 2 (2021), is a popular face on Indian television and films. The handsome actor started his career with supporting roles in films like Maine Dil Tujhko Diya (2002) and Kuchh Na Kaho (2003) but became a sensation after appearing in television shows like Kahiin To Hoga, Kkavyanjali and Kyaa Hoga Nimmo Ka.

However, looking back, Eijaz says he never realised the stardom that he enjoyed back then. "I didn't have time to reflect on the stardom that I got or realise how popular I am. People still come up to me and compliment me for Kkavyanjali and Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka... It feels good that they still remember my shows even after 15-20 years," he says.

"Those were more innocent times. On the contrary, today the pressure is immense. Everything is scrutinised and you are expected to behave in a certain way, as to not offend anyone. This does become irritating sometimes but I do try to strike a fine balance," Eijaz adds.

The Tanu Weds Manu (2011) actor, who is currently in a live-in relationship with Pavitra Punia (whom he met in Bigg Boss 14), had a traumatic childhood due to his parents' separation which affected him a lot as a child.

"I was a brilliant student but an introvert, coming from a broken family. However, school days were the best days of my life. They were a bit challenging too but I wouldn’t change anything about it. Nevertheless, there is a lot of awareness now- about what I felt and how I dealt with things then. I draw parallels to what actions I took then to what actions I take now, and I compare them. I try to understand those things in a better way... It helps me, helps my characters, helps my relationship and helps my life,” says the 46-year-old actor.

When asked about his future projects, Eijaz revealed that he has an excited slate ahead but refused to divulge any further.

"I'm shooting for an amazing film which I can't talk about right now. I gave two auditions, cracked it... Met the producer, director and felt good by the appreciation that i got. Also, City of Dreams season 3 might also roll this year. There's another film in the pipeline too, that may happen during the same time or later," he concludes.
