Rumours have been rife lately in the tinsel town of television that the much-talked about sequel, Sasural Genda Phool 2 is set to face the axe and will soon say goodbye to viewers. The show hit the airwaves in December and rumours about it going off-air have disappointed a lot of fans.
However, a primary cast member has just rubbished all the rumours of Sasural Genda Phool 2 shutting shop and said that the show will instead move to an earlier time slot.
Actor Jay Soni, who plays the lead role on the show, confirmed the news to a publication, saying, “The show is definitely not wrapping up. But it has moved to an earlier time slot because the channel is getting another show in our time slot. I am happy with the way our show has connected with viewers and I could not have asked for more.”
When asked about comparing both the seasons of Sasural Genda Phool, the actor said, “I don't feel the two seasons can be compared. When the first season was made, it was a different time period and a different script. It was also aired on a different channel. Currently, the second season has a good role for me and I like how the makers have treated the subject. Currently, my track involves action scenes and how I save Titli (Shagun Sharma) from some local goons.”
