A blockbuster hit, ‘3 Idiots’ showcased freshmen played by Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi, and R Madhavan being ragged by their seniors in the hostel. The movie also showed how the three students tackled the situation and won it on the basis of their talent and hard work. Rajeev Khandelwal starrer ‘Table No. 1’ takes a much darker look at the topic of ragging, where Vivaan, played by Rajeev Khandelwal, and his friend rag a boy named Akram. Viaan realises his mistakes when he’s made to relive the moments his victim apparently went through.
‘Chhichhore’, starring the late Sushant Singh Rajput and Shraddha Kapoor, has shed light on the culture of ragging and bullying that is responsible for emotional abuse and triggering a mental health crisis in the psyche of some people, but it also teaches us how to overcome these circumstances and obstacles.
Similarly, the Star Plus show ‘Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Mein’ has recently been shedding some light on the topic of ragging in its latest plot, where the protagonist Savi has being ragged by her seniors in college. Savi, a strong-headed woman, in spite of the trauma, stands up for herself and voices the injustice that has happened to her, demanding justice from the institution. Through Savi, the show ‘Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Mein’ aims to inspire all those people and students who have been the victims of ragging to speak up and raise their voice against the injustice.
