But Sunny Deol was criticised by some Internet users who said he used personal events, like the wedding of his son Karan Deol, to market the movie.

During an interview on 'The Kapil Sharma Show,' Kapil Sharma made a joke about how Sunny Deol always wore Tara Singh's clothes. This made the macho star respond in a playful way. The first Gadar movie was one of the biggest hits in Bollywood history.

Kapil Sharma also talked about meeting Amrish Puri and Ameesha Patel on the set of Gadar in Amritsar, Punjab, where the movie was filmed. Kapil Sharma lightly tapped Amrish Puri on the shoulder, which surprised the late star and made him turn around. When Ameesha Patel asked Kapil Sharma what he would have done if he had tapped her instead, he joked that he wouldn't have had the guts to do it.
