On June 18, 2023, Salman Khan's reality show premiered. At the time, nobody could have predicted that a wildcard candidate would take home the trophy. Elvish Yadav made history by defeating Fukra Insaan to win the competition and became the first wildcard entry to do so. Given that they both had sizable followings on YouTube, it was a contest between two YouTubers.
Elvish Yadav made history by becoming the only wildcard participant to win ‘Bigg Boss,’ establishing his place in history. Aly Goni, The Great Khali, and Rishabh Sinha, for example, were among the wildcard contestants who advanced to the finals but failed to win the competition. Elvish demonstrated that he was ‘Bigg Boss OTT 2's underdog.
After winning the competition, the YouTuber thanked the viewers for their votes in a post. He posted a message on social media saying, "Thankyou #ElvishArmy, this trophy belongs to you. I just brought it for you all. I am grateful beyond words. #ElvishArmy wo hai jo Bigg Boss ka 17 saal ka record tod de This trophy is yours." In no time, his post became widely popular online.
Many former winners and contenders, like Divya Agarwal, supported Abhishek Malhan in his bid to win the competition. Elvish Yadav, though, won the award in a star-studded competition. A well-known ‘Bigg Boss’ participant was approached by photographers, who inquired about his thoughts on Elvish winning ‘Bigg Boss OTT 2.’
Shiv Thakare 'Bigg Boss 16's Marathi Mulga, who caused a stir, spoke a lot regarding Abhishek Malhan. He commended Fukra Insaan's strategy and said that the YouTuber played well because he had been a member of the programme from the beginning. Elvish had more fans than Abhishek, according to the 'Bigg Boss 16' first runner-up, and this turned out to be a crucial factor in the competition.
He said, "Game ke mamle mein bologe toh Abhishek Malhan ka jyada acha tha, kyunki vo phele din se tha. Par Bigg Boss 16 ho, Bigg Boss OTT 2 ho, main hota hai aapki fan following. Dono takkar ke the, par Elvish Yadav ki fan following jyada thi."
Shiv Thakare concurred that Fukra Insaan had a larger fan base but noted that with ‘Bigg Boss,’ the fan base is what matters most.
