Model-designer Ishita Gupta reportedly owns the clothing brand ISIVIS. She participated in a cover photo for a New York magazine, according to a story in Zoom Digital. She said in her statement that Priyanka 'copied her designs' as well as her look for the photo session.
Ishita caused a stir when she referred to Priyanka Choudhary as a "copycat clone" and said that the latter was trying to "gain likes" on social media by mimicking her appearance for a picture shoot. By putting out a message on her official Instagram account, she made derogatory comments about the ‘Udaariyaan’ actress.
Gupta, a fashion industry newcomer, used Instagram to criticise Choudhary for sporting a look that was nearly identical to one she had previously worn.
However, Choudhary's supporters swiftly clarified that the alleged costume had no resemblance to any design by Gupta. Gupta received a lot of trolling on social media as a result of her unfounded claims and her attempt to draw attention by discrediting a popular actress. She posted a screenshot letting her followers know that she had blocked Priyanka Choudhary and Kangana Ranaut on Instagram.
Many others criticised Gupta's actions on social media sites including Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, calling her a "jealous wannabe" and questioned her motivations for picking a fight with Choudhary. Some even demanded a boycott of Gupta's modelling career, claiming that if she was going to use such petty strategies, she had no business being in the business.
On the other hand, Choudhary opted not to respond to Gupta's claims. Her supporters did, however, defend her and criticise Gupta for trying to stir up drama where none was. This event serves as a reminder of how easily one may be harassed on social media and of the value of checking facts before speculating. It serves as a warning to people who seek attention or are attempting to gain notoriety by defaming others.
