Actor Sanjay Kapoor , whom we last saw in Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt ’s film ‘ Shaandaar ’ in 2015, is making a comeback on television. Kapoor has previously starred in the television show ‘Karishma - The Miracles of Destiny’ in 2003 where he played Karisma Kapoor’s love interest. The actor will return to do television after a long gap of 13 years.

Sanjay Kapoor has been roped in to play an important character in a TV show called ‘Ishq Gunaah’, which is an Indian adaptation of the Turkish romantic-drama Aski-Memnu. The actor will play a widower who falls in love with a younger woman. For the female lead, the makers have cast Smriti Kalra.

A source close to the show reveals, “It will feature some other notable names like Vikram Bhatt, who is on-board as the creative director, and it will be directed by the Bengali filmmaker Abhijit Das.”

The Goa shooting schedule of the show has already been wrapped up and the whole team is currently shooting in Mumbai. ‘Ishq Gunaah’ will premiere in the month of August on Star Plus.
