Based on filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt 's life, Star Plus' popular show Naamkarann has been attracting a huge number of eyeballs since its inception. Starring Aditi Rathore and Zain Imam in lead roles, the show also featured the very talented actor Puru Chibber in an important role. But now, the news is coming in that the actor, who was on a break from the show, has opted out of it forever.

Confirming the news, Puru says, "I have quit the show. It was a mutual decision between me and the makers. There is nothing left for my character in the show. It's sad, but after Reema Ma'am's sudden demise even the makers were forced to come up with a new track. But I am open to working with the team in future."

Talking about his great bond with veteran actress Reema Lagoo on the show, Puru says, "I really enjoyed a strong bond with Reema Ji. She played my mother in the show," he said.

Before breathing her last on 18th March 2017, Reema was seen in the domineering role of Dayawanti Mehta on the show.
