Gorgeous actress Deepshikha Nagpal , who is active in both films and television, has been roped in to play Kranti Maa on &TV's popular show Santoshi Maa. The actress has replaced Alka Kaushal who joined the show a few weeks ago.

As we all know that Alka Kaushal , who is a well-known figure on Indian television and has done many successful shows like Swaragini and Qubool Hai, has been sentenced to two years of imprisonment by a District Court in Punjab following a case of bounced cheque. Alka, along with her mother, are accused of not returning nearly Rs 50 lakh to an acquaintance.

Since the makers of Santoshi Maa did not want their hit show suffer, they immediately signed on Deepshikha to play the part.

Talking to a daily, Deepshikha confirmed, "Yes, I am playing Kranti Maa. It's only during the look test that I realised that I'd been roped in as Alka's replacement. The production house told me that she had to be replaced owing to some personal crisis and that's when I went ahead."

The actress was last seen on Peshwa Bajirao as Zeenat and received a lot of praises for her performance.
