It is better to say, something is better than nothing! Social activists have done enough awareness and efforts to ban the Sony TV’s controversial daily soup Pehredaar Piya Ki. And all the chaos created finally has been heard by the Broadcasting Content Complaints Council (BCCC). On this Wednesday, the meeting was chaired by BCCC's new chief, Justice (retd) Vikramajit Sen and as per BCCC’s guidelines, they have instructed Sony TV to move its assigned time slot to post 10 PM time slot. Though adults can still see this show, since particular time slot of considered to be suitable for the adults!

Along with movement in time-slot, BCCC has also instructed to add declaimer saying it does not promote child marriage. To give basic premise of the show, it is a story of a nine-year-old boy, Ratan played by junior artist Afaan Khan, and his marriage to 18 -year-old Diya played by Tejasswi Prakash. If the basic plot of this serial isn’t much creepy for anyone, many scenes from further episode increases cringe factor in the audience.

The chaos began when many online petitions were filed and followed by the offended viewers which reached the desk of Cabinet Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Smriti Irani, who then forwarded such request for the further processing. And now, as protocol BCCC took necessary actions. It would be interesting to see what makers, channel, and actors of this serial has to say about this revelation they are compelled to follow!
