Samantha Ruth Prabhu starrer Yashoda is a science fiction thriller directed by Hari-Harish. The movie's initial trailer, which was published in May, looked eerie and hinted at an intense thriller. Recently, it was reported that the flick is inspired by a true story. In an interview, the directors revealed that the film will showcase a true crime incident.
They confirmed, "The backdrop of the story is about a crime which is happening without the knowledge of anyone in the society. The crime which we are showing is based on a true incident but we have added some psychological thriller flavor to it. It is about a crime that is confronted by a normal girl when she learns about it. How she exposes the plot.”
Talking about the film’s shoot, the filmmakers said that Samantha had shot some of the sequences of the flick in the actual slums of Hyderabad. "The slum portion in the film has been shot in the real locales of Hyderabad. With an actor like Samantha, we have to take care of safety measures also but Sam insisted and said 'if this place will suit for the shoot, let's do it, and then it will be easy for us to shoot there," said the duo-directors.
Yashoda also stars Unni Mukundan and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in pivotal roles. Apart from this film, Samantha Ruth Prabhu is all set to make her debut in the popular talk show Koffee with Karan hosted by Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar.
