Unni Mukundan to share screen space with Samantha in Tamil-Telugu bilingual Yashoda

Successful Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan has added yet another interesting film to his line-up. He is set to play the lead role in the upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual titled Yashoda. The popular actor will share the screen space with Samantha in the film.

According to reports, Yashoda will be written and directed by Hari and Harish Shankar. Sridevi Movies is bankrolling the project. The team is looking at beginning production in Hyderabad next month.

In addition to Unni Mukundan and Samantha, Yashoda will also feature supremely talented Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in an important role. A few more actors are expected to join the cast of the film soon.

Mukundan, who is a force to reckon with in Mollywood, has earlier featured in a couple of high-profile Telugu films, including Anushka Shetty’s Bhaagamathie (2018) and NTR Jr’s Janatha Garage (2016).

The actor had debuted in Tamil with Dhanush’s Seedan (2011), which was the official remake of the successful Malayalam film Nandanam (2002). Yashoda will mark his return to the Tamil film industry after a decade.

Mukundan is also starring in filmmaker Ramesh Varma’s pan-Indian Telugu venture, which is scheduled to commence production in 2022. He is also part of several much-awaited Mollywood films, including Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Bro Daddy and Jeethu Joseph’s mystery-thriller 12th Man. His first production Meppadiyan is also gearing up for release soon.
