Thalapathy Vijay's forthcoming film with filmmaker Venkat Prabhu is still making waves. The crew just returned from Bangkok, where they shot an exciting vehicle chase sequence starring Vijay.
According to the latest speculations, Thalapathy Vijay's next film, provisionally titled ‘Thalapathy 68’, would be a Tamil version of the 2012 Hollywood film ‘Looper’, which starred Bruce Willis, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Emily Blunt. The film, a science fiction action-thriller, was a box office triumph as well as receiving positive critical praise.

‘Looper's’ narrative is set in the year 2044, and the protagonist character Joe (played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is an assassin, or "looper," for the Kansas City crime organisation.
The ‘Loopers’ are tasked with assassinating inmates from the future who have been sent back in time from the year 2075. However, when Joe becomes more involved, things become more heated. ‘Knives Out’ filmmaker Rian Johnson's film was a huge success back in 2012.
Though it has not been verified that Thalapathy 68 is a remake of the film Looper, bringing such an intriguing storyline into the framework of Tamil cinema and pulling in a major celebrity like Thalapathy Vijay is an adventurous excursion. If this is accurate, the film will have a significant influence on action and rely significantly on VFX.
Thalapathy Vijay was most recently seen in the Lokesh Kanagaraj-directed film ‘Leo’, which is still playing in theatres. The film, which was an Indian remake of David Cronenberg's film ‘History of Violence’, went on to become Tamil cinema's biggest blockbuster.
Following that, filming on Venkat Prabhu's ‘Thalapathy 68’ began, and the cast and crew were revealed during the Dussehra holiday. Prabhu Deva, Mic Mohan, Prashanth, Sneha, Laila, Yogi Babu, Meenakshii Chaudhary, and many other actors appear in the film.

The crew had already gone to Los Angeles to build the de-aging technology for the film, which will most likely include Thalapathy Vijay in dual roles.
