SSMB29: Mahesh Babu And SS Rajamouli To Start Filming From ‘THIS’ Date!

Since the release of ‘RRR’ in March 2022, there has been much conjecture about the filming schedule of SS Rajamouli's next film, which would star Mahesh Babu. The film was originally scheduled to begin production in 2023, but the unconventional filmmaker needed more time to perfect his story and acquire foreign technology for this African Jungle Adventure.

Mahesh Babu And SS Rajamouli Movie Update:

While pre-production is still ongoing, Pinkvilla has exclusively learned that SS Rajamouli and the team plan to begin filming for ‘SSMB 29’ in April 2024. "SS Rajamouli and his father, KV Vijayendra Prasad, are currently working on the script for this African Jungle Adventure." The full screenplay draft is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year, according to a person close to the project.

A crew is also working on the tech check for this jungle adventure, according to the source. “After ‘RRR’ scaling new heights, SS Rajamouli has become the global face of cinema. He is in talks with two global studios (Disney & Sony) to partner on this feature film, with the idea of taking the content to the remotest corners of the world. While the storytelling pattern will stick to the Indian flavour, the visuals will be a result of some of the best technology coming into play. The shoot will take place at real locations as well as sets in India and abroad,” the source said, adding that Mahesh would go through considerable preparation for this project.

Rajamouli will collaborate with Mahesh Babu on a rooted jungle adventure:

While the setting is that of a worldwide jungle adventure, we earlier reported that Mahesh Babu's character in the film will feature aspects of Lord Hanuman. "Rajamouli films are steeped in Indian mythology and epics, and the upcoming jungle adventure will be no exception. He is a master of his profession, and he understands how to combine Indian stories in a way that makes it a must-see big-screen spectacular," the insider added.

Workshops for Mahesh on SS Rajamouli's next film will begin early next year, following the release of his Trivikram-directed ‘Guntur Kaaram.’ There has also been talk in the business regarding a spin-off for characters from 'Baahubali', but there has been no confirmation from trustworthy sources.
