It is impossible to stop RRR. The film, which previously ignited the BO not just in India but also around the world, has now made history by becoming the first Indian film to win the best original song at the recently held 80th Golden Globe Awards event. The team was represented by music director MM Keeravani, who wrote the well-known song Naatu Naatu. Recently, director SS Rajamouli discussed how he believed that his grand drama RRR would only be seen by friends of NRIs living in the US. The filmmaker recently appeared as a guest on Seth Meyers' Late Night show. On the show, Seth questioned whether he found the US audience's reaction about if he found the US audience's reaction to being intriguing.
The film's director, S. S. Rajamouli, spoke candidly about the response the film received in the west and how it came off as a little unexpected at first. The filmmaker commented during his appearance on Seth Meyers' show saying, “Not even close to being exciting enough. The world belongs to us. I mostly create films for Indians both in India and around the world. Our original assumption when we began to receive praise from the west was that these men must be the friends of our Indians who went to see the movie."
The director further continued, "It then began to grow as more and more famous people, authors, and film directors began discussing it on social media and tweeting about it. As word spread, they began promoting the movie. We acknowledged that the situation was intensifying. Following its Netflix release, it spent 15 weeks straight in the top 10 lists. In Japan, it was first broadcast, and it is continuing on. It has earned the most money in Japan for any Indian movie.”
Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem, two freedom fighters, served as the inspiration for the fictional story RRR. Over 1200 crore have been made from the movie globally. The film also stars Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, and Shriya Saran in addition to Jr. N.T.R. and Ram Charan.
