Salman Khan declines ₹ 20 crores for his cameo in Chiranjeevi starrer Godfather

There's a reason Salman Khan is referred to as Salman "bhai." While many people adore him as a fan, he is also known for going above and beyond for his close friends, which includes taking on projects without charging a charge, which we all know comes at a high price.

Earlier this week, Salman Khan joined the cast of Chiranjeevi starrer Godfather for a cameo appearance. In addition, the film marks the Bollywood star's first appearance in Telugu cinema. Before joining the Godfather cast, however, the actor had one condition. He will not be compensated for his work on the film.

Salman has made it clear that he will not accept a single dime for his efforts in the Chiranjeevi-starrer Godfather. A source connected to the film informed from Hyderabad, “Chiranjeevi’s producers wanted to pay Salman Rs. 15-20 crores for his guest appearance in Godfather. But Salman was adamant. He told Chiranjeevi he won’t do the cameo if they insisted on paying him. Salman’s words to Chiranjeevi were, ‘If I was to ask you to do a role in my film would you charge for it?’ The question left Chiranjeevi moved and speechless.”

According to Pinkvilla, the makers of Godfather wanted to offer Salman a large sum for his role since they thought the Bollywood superstar's involvement in the picture would draw more people to the Hindi belt's theatres. Salman, on the other hand, made it clear from the start that he would only make the film out of love and respect for Chiranjeevi. Salman even had food delivered to Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan's set in Mumbai when he was filming his Bollywood debut Zanjeer (2013).

Salman reportedly has a 20-minute cameo in Godfather. He'll be on set for a week.
