Puri Jagannadh is one of the top directors of South. The original Telugu versions of Ranveer Singh's Simmba (Temper) and Salman Khan's Wanted (Pokiri) are what make Puri most well-known in the Hindi-speaking regions. In Buddha Hoga Tera Baap, he also directed the direction of Amitabh Bachchan. The highly anticipated action drama Liger, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday, is currently being prepped for release by Puri Jagannadh. The film is dubbed into several Indian languages, earning it the title "Pan India film."
Jagannadh revealed his plans to remake the Mahesh Babu movie Businessman in Hindi in a recent interview. He stated, “I really want to remake Businessman. The hero’s character has a lot of scope. It’s a dialogue-based film and I feel it would have great potential in the Hindi belt. I hope I get a chance to rework the idea and make it for the Hindi audience soon.”
Despite being a remake, Puri believes that Businessman, starring Mahesh Babu, has the potential to become a franchise for the Telugu audience. He added, “Businessman can easily be turned into a franchise. There’s so much more that I can do with the character. Same for Pokiri as well. I had an idea for the part 2 of both films in the early 2010s, but then, Mahesh sir was busy with other films. We never discussed the sequels then and hence, both films never took off.”
Puri concluded by expressing his desire to continue producing Hindi movies in the future. In the near future, the director hopes to work on a project with Salman Khan, who is his favourite Khan. He desires to collaborate with Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, and Varun Dhawan among the younger actors.
