Prithviraj Sukumaran to direct and star in Hindi streaming show Biscuit King

The superstar made his directorial debut in 2019 with Lucifer. Headlined by Mohanlal, the film turned out to be a massive hit at the box office.

Malayalam superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran, who was last seen in Bhramam (2021), is set to direct and star in an upcoming Hindi web series. The award-winning actor made his silver screen debut in 2002 and turned to direction in 2019 with Lucifer, starring legendary actor Mohanlal in the lead role. The political thriller emerged as one of the most successful Malayalam films of 2019 and is currently being remade in Telugu as Godfather with Chiranjeevi.

Now, Prithviraj Sukumaran is gearing up to direct and star in the upcoming Hindi web series which revolves around the eventful life of Biscuit King- Rajan Pillai. Yoodlee Films is bankrolling the high-profile project.

Announcing the webseries officially, Yoodlee Films dropped a first-look poster of Prithviraj on Twitter. “We believe in fearless stories that can inspire. Presenting our latest project in the making: A Hindi web series inspired by the life story of India’s Biscuit King - Rajan Pillai with National Award-winner Prithviraj Sukumaran playing the lead role and also directing the series,” the wrote.

Based in Singapore in the mid-1970s, Rajan Pillai managed high-profile positions in biscuit companies Nabisco, Huntley & Palmer, Britannia among others. In 1993, Singapore's Commercial Affairs Department investigated him and in 1995, he was imprisoned in India and where he died awaiting medical treatment.

Currently in pre-production, the project will go on floors in mid-2022. The rest of the cast is expected to be announced soon.
