After the worldwide success of Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali: The Conclusion (2017), Prabhas emerged as the biggest pan-India star, making several leading filmmakers queue up in front of his doors with bound scripts in their hands.
The superstar currently has five high-profile films on his platter which are at various stages of development. He recently wrapped up filming director Om Raut’s much-anticipated mythological drama Adipurush which stars him in the role of Lord Ram.
And if fresh reports are to be believed, Prabhas has charged a staggering amount of ₹150 crore for the big-ticket film, emerging as the highest-paid Indian actor. Bankrolled by T-Series Films’ Bhushan Kumar, Adipurush also features Saif Ali Khan, Kriti Sanon, and Sunny Singh in lead roles.
“Prabhas is way ahead of the Khans and Akshay Kumar who still churn out maximum Hindi releases. His remuneration for Adipurush, which is close to ₹150 crores, surpassed the fee that Akshay Kumar charged for Bell Bottom (2021) and Salman Khan received for Sultan (2016) and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) and what filmmakers and investors are willing to ride mega-budgets on Prabhas as he is the most dependable actor whose loyal fans ensure he is ruling on the numero uno spot,” says a trade source.
In addition to Adipurush, Prabhas also has Radhe Shyam, Salaar, Spirit, and an untitled film with filmmaker Nag Ashwin, co-starring Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan.
