It’s the biggest and proudest day for Indians and the whole of Indian cinema as the ‘RRR’ film’s song ‘Naatu Naatu’ bags the ‘Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards making it a historical moment. MM Keeravani and Chadrabose’s song made sure that the whole world dances to it and everyone knows what Indian Cinema can bring. From winning at Golden Globes to winning Oscars, ‘Naatu Naatu’ and ‘RRR’s’ winning streak continues. Director SS Rajamouli, Ram Charan, Jr. NTR along with their families and crew members of the film were present to witness the historic moment.
‘RRR's’ Naatu Naatu was named Best Original Song at the Academy Award which also had other nominees in the category Applause (Tell It Like a Lady), Hold My Hand (Top Gun Maverick), Raise Me Up (Black Panther Wakanda Forever), and This is a Life (Everything Everywhere All at Once).
The song was performed by singers of ‘Naatu Naatu’ Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava. at the Oscars which also received a standing ovation from the audience. Their electrifying performance and upbeat music literally took over everyone in the audience. The two singers discussed about the song on the red carpet of the 95th Academy Awards. The vocalists stated, "It's simply unbelievable. It's too wonderful to be true. It feels like a dream. We've pinched ourselves the entire way down here to ensure it's real. This is simply incredible."
When asked what makes the song so award-worthy, Kaala stated, "One of the key reasons is that the song is based on its nativity. This is also the most beautiful section of the Oscars. Individuals worldwide come together to promote their culture and art for and to be recognized by other cultures." Rahul and Kaala were also accompanied by 'Naatu Naatu' choreographer Prem Rakshith.
When asked if RRR will ever have a sequel, Kaala replied, "I wish I knew the answer, but we, along with you, are waiting very excitedly for the same. I'm hoping it happens. Let's all manifest."
