Based on KM Chidambaran's play of the same name, "Thuramukham" is a historical drama. Gopan Chidambaram, his son, wrote the script for the next movie. The story of the movie takes place between 1927 and 1953, and it is set against the backdrop of Cochin Port. The central theme of the movie is the infamous "chappa" system, which was used at Cochin Harbor in the 1940s and 1950s. Under this system, workers would fight to grab a copper coin thrown into the air in order to get paid for their job. The teaser and trailer, which were released previously, caught the attention of movie fans for all the right reasons.
