Mrunal Thakur started her career in the Television industry with the Star Plus show, Mujhse Kuchh Kehti...Yeh Khamoshiyaan. She went on to star in a number of Marathi and English flicks including Love Sonia (2012) and Vitti Dandu (2014) and made her Bollywood debut opposite Hrithik Roshan in the biological drama Super 30 (2019). After making a name for herself in Bollywood, the actress is now gearing up for her Telugu debut opposite Dulquer Salmaan in a yet to be titled project.

The film is directed by Hanu Raghavapudi and presented by Vyjayanthi Films and is produced by Swapna Cinema. But what caught everyone's attention is Mrunal’s never-seen-before avatar from the film. The Dhamaka actress shares a strong resemblance to the legendary actress, Madhubala.

Madhubala is often said to be the most beautiful Indian actress of all time, and any comparison to her is a big honour. Despite having such large shoes to fill, Mrunal appears to enjoy the spotlight.

Mrunal remarked on her Madhubala-like appearance. She said, "It’s an honour to be told I resemble one of the most beautiful actresses, Madhubala ji. This film just got a whole lot special for me after being associated with such a legendary actor. Really look forward to this one and I hope that my fans love the film as much as we loved making it!"

Due to the pandemic, Mrunal Thakur's sports drama Jersey, starring Shahid Kapoor, has been repeatedly postponed. Jersey, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, will be released in theatres worldwide on April 14, 2022.
