Starring Baahubali star Prabhas and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles, the upcoming pan-India film Radhe Shyam is currently slated to hit theatres on January 14, 2022, on the occasion of Sankranti. But if fresh reports doing the rounds are to be believed, the makers of the high-profile films are considering postponing the film’s release.
It is to be noted that celebrated filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR is scheduled to enter cinemas on January 7, 2022. Reportedly, the filmmaker has requested other filmmakers to reschedule their release dates and make a way for the periodic drama to have a smooth run at the box office. And since superstar Prabhas shares a great bond with the director, he has agreed to shift the release date of Radhe Shyam.
Having said that, RRR will still face a stiff competition from Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati’s much-awaited Bheemla Nayak, which is set to release on January 12. Recently, the makers of the film reconfirmed the release date of the film. Bheemla Nayak is the official remake of the successful Malayalam film Ayyappanum Koshiyum (2020) and there is a great pre-release buzz surrounding the film.
As things stand today, there is no official announcement on Radhe Shyam quitting the Pongal race. If the makers have indeed decided to postpone the film, we can expect the announcement of the new release date in days to come. Radhe Shyam, directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, also stars Pooja Hegde. The pan-India film will release in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada.
