Spanning 2 minutes and 41 seconds, the trailer commences with Vijay's character, Vikram, journeying to Kashmir, where he falls head over heels for Aaradhya, portrayed by Samantha. However, complications arise when it's revealed that Aaradhya belongs to a Brahmin family. Despite facing parental resistance, the determined couple goes on to tie the knot.
Yet, the challenges don't cease there. After marriage, Aaradhya and Vikram find themselves grappling to navigate the complexities of wedded life, leading to constant conflicts between them.
Directed by Shiva Nirvana, ‘Kushi’ also boasts a notable ensemble cast including Jayaram, Sachin Khedakar, Murali Sharma, Lakshmi, Ali, Rohini, Vennela Kishore, Rahul Ramakrishna, Srikanth Iyengar, and Saranya.
To tease the impending trailer, Samantha shared a fresh movie poster depicting Vijay Deverakonda and herself seated on the floor. The film's fan-favorite romantic tracks, including the title song and ‘Na Rojaa Nuvve’ and ‘Aradhya’, have already been unveiled and well-received by their admirers.
‘Kushi’ marks the cinematic reunion of Samantha and Vijay, post their collaboration in the 2018 film ‘Mahanati’.It also marks Samantha's second partnership with filmmaker Shiva Nirvana, who previously directed her in the 2019 film ‘Majili’, a project that also starred her former husband, Naga Chaitanya.
Currently taking a hiatus from her work to prioritize her health, Samantha is expected to dedicate time to the promotional activities for ‘Kushi’, following her recent vacation in Bali.
For both Vijay and Samantha, ‘Kushi’ holds significance, as their prior major releases didn't fare as expected at the box office. While Vijay ventured into Hindi cinema with ‘Liger’, opposite Ananya Panday, the film failed to impress both critics and audiences alike. Similarly, Samantha's much-anticipated film ‘Shaakuntalam’ couldn't meet the makers' expectations despite its extensive use of VFX.
Beyond ‘Kushi’, Vijay is also set to star in Gowtam Tinnanuri's upcoming film, tentatively titled ‘VD 12’, alongside Sreeleela. Meanwhile, Samantha has wrapped up filming for the Indian segment of the Russo Brothers' action-packed series, ‘Citadel’, co-starring Varun Dhawan. Created by Raj and DK, this series will stream on Amazon Prime Video.
