Since its release, the Telugu film Karthikeya 2 with Nikhil Siddhartha has generated buzz across India. It has been dubbed into many different languages, including Hindi. The Hindi dubbed version debuted on a very modest number of screens, but as moviegoers flocked to see it, the screens multiplied and the box office increased day by day. In an interview, Nikhil spoke about how thrilled and overjoyed he is with the film’s success.
Nikhil, who doesn’t come from a filmy background explicitly states that a movie's success depends more on the quality of its story than on its budget. He said, "I come from a non-filmy background, and becoming an actor in itself is a big thing for me. I feel the same vibe today as my first film Happy Days. The kind of love and reception people are giving feels so fresh again. It is exciting that a new section of the audience is watching me.
The Yuvatha actor further added, "Industry is a rollercoaster ride and it is such an exciting industry to be in. Initially, after Happy Days whichever 5-6 movies I did, I didn't have proper guidance. I had no idea what movies to select and I learned from my mistakes. It took me 5-6 years to learn and when Swamy Ra Ra happened, I knew that story is what matters. If I had a godfather or somebody guiding me back then, I wouldn't have the initial hiccups but generally, ups and downs are a part of life."
To everyone's amazement, Karthikeya 2 has bypassed the Bollywood films Raksha Bandhan starring Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan's Laal Singh, and Dobaaraa starring Taapsee Pannu. The worldwide gross for Nikhil Siddhartha's August 13 released film is getting close to Rs 85 crore. Chandoo Mondeti is the director of the supernatural thriller. The lead actors are Nikhil Siddhartha and Anupama Parameswaran.
