On July 21, the UAE government issued the prestigious Golden Visa to superstar Kamal Haasan. The actor thanked Emirates officials on Twitter for issuing him the UAE's Golden Visa. Additionally, he shared pictures of the officials presenting him with the Golden Visa.

Sharing pictures on his Twitter, the Vikram (2022) actor wrote, "I’m honored to receive the Golden Visa from the United Arab Emirates. Thank you Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General GDRFA for touring the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs offices in Dubai (sic)."

"Thanks to Dubai Film and TV Commission for supporting talents and creative people. FilmDubai GDRFADUBAI #Dubai #filmDubai #goldenvisa (sic)," he wrote in another tweet.

Mohanlal and Mammootty had previously been granted UAE Golden Visas. Trisha, Raai Laxmi, and actress Amala Paul also received Golden Visas and received recognition from the Dubai government earlier in January.

Kamal Haasan last appeared in the box office sensation Vikram. Vikram, which was directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, features Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi, and Fahadh Faasil in the key roles. Supporting actors included Kalidas Jayaram, Narain, Gayathrie, Vasanthi, and Santhana Bharathi. Raaj Kamal Films International produced the movie, and Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies distributed it throughout Tamil Nadu.
