Jigarthanda Double X Trailer Breakdown: Karthik Subbaraj Gives A Brilliant Glimpse Of The Black Comedy Flick!

‘Jigarthanda Double X’, Karthik Subbaraj's next film, has been the buzz of the town for quite some time. The film, starring Raghava Lawrence and SJ Suryah, is a standalone sequel to the 2014 film of the same name. As the film's release date approaches, so does the amount of buzz around it.

The film's trailer has been revealed in the most recent update. The trailer's Tamil and Telugu versions were released by renowned music directors Anirudh Ravichander and Thaman S, respectively. The picture appears to be a mix between period, gangster, action, and black humour films.

Breakdown of the Trailer:

The video, which lasts 2 minutes and 49 seconds, does an excellent job of introducing the characters while without giving too much away about them. The film is set in 1975 and follows the story of a criminal (Raghhava Lawrence) who aspires to be an actor. In the local theatre, his character expresses a wish to have a cutout of himself next to Clint Eastwood's cutout.

Ray Dasan, played by SJ Suryah, is a filmmaker who has worked with great director Satyajit Ray. Unaware of the danger that awaits him, he decides to create a film with Raghava Lawrence's character. Shine Tom Chacko also appears in the film as an individual with a lot of power and influence, maybe a politician, and Nimisha Sajayan plays a woman from a nearby tribe.

Based on the trailer alone, the picture appears to be pretty promising, with terrific performers and strong screenplay. The picture also appears to have a social undertone, with hints at society. For example, in the teaser, SJ Suryah explains that he is creating a gangster picture since the audience does not appreciate viewing films about decent characters. Overall, ‘Jigarthanda Double X’ appears to be a multi-layered drama worth seeing in theatres.

‘Jigarthanda Double X’ has been characterised as a Pandian Western by director Karthik Subbaraj. It has a running time of 2 hours and 52 minutes and has been CBFC certified U/A. Stone Bench Films produced the film in partnership with Five Star Creations and Ivenio Origins. Santhosh Narayanan created the film's music, marking his sixth collaboration with the director. The film will be released in theatres on November 10th.
