Rajinikanth, a superstar in Tamil cinema, is getting ready for his upcoming, highly anticipated movie 'Jailer.' It is directed by Nelson and is creating quite a stir in both the Bollywood and Tollywood sectors. The movie is significant in the career of filmmaker Nelson, who rose to fame in the Tamil cinema industry with hits like ‘Doctor’ and ‘Kolamaavu Kokila.’ Unfortunately, both moviegoers and critics gave his movie ‘Beast,’ negative reviews which starred Thalapathy Vijay.
Since it was Rajinikanth's 169th film, the project was given the working title ‘Thalaivar 169’ and was officially confirmed in February 2022. In June, the 'Jailer' movie's official title was made public.

August 2022 saw the start of principal photography in Chennai, which was finished in June 2023. The soundtrack was written by Anirudh Ravichander, and the cinematography was done by Vijay Kartik Kannan and R. Nirmal.
Rajinikath's upcoming movie has already begun advance booking, and it is off to a historic start. Bengaluru performances start as early as six in the morning, and multiplex tickets range in price from Rs 800 to Rs1400.
Rumour says that Rajinikanth has already received Rs 110 crores as money for the film. According to reports, the film's overall budget is Rs 225 crores. The movie's advance sales for its USA launch are excellent, earning $401,220 with 17,919 tickets sold, according to a Venky Reviews report.
On August 10, 2023, Rajnikanth's movie ‘Jailer’ will be released in theatres.
In order to prevent a gang from trying to free their leader from prison, Muthuvel Pandian, a severe but sympathetic jailer, sets out to do so.
Rumour has it that Netflix will likely be the winner of the streaming rights to the movie. The production company might even decide to preserve the digital rights for Sun NXT, its own streaming service.

Along with Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, Shiva Rajkumar, Sunil, Ramya Krishnan, Vinayakan, Mirnaa Menon, and Tamannaah Bhatia, also stars in addition to Rajinikanth in the lead role.
