The TJ Gnanavel-directed film Jai Bhim (2022), which starred Suriya, was not only a huge success but also won a number of accolades. A case was brought against Suriya and TJ Gnanavel as a result of a sequence from the direct OTT release that targeted a certain community and caused controversy. In light of the Jai Bhim scandal, the Madras High Court has now thrown out the lawsuit filed against Suriya and TJ Gnanavel.

The makers of Jai Bhim have responded to the lawsuit by requesting that the case be dismissed because the controversial sequences in the movie were allegedly cut before the complaint was made.

A judge who recently heard the case ruled that actor Suriya and director TJ Gnanavel should not face harsh punishment. As a result, the Judge who heard the case yesterday dismissed it and accepted the actor's and director's petition. The Jai Bhim controversy has ended almost 10 months later, and fans and stars are now at ease.

Suriya reprises his role as Justice Chandru in the film Jai Bhim, which also stars Lijimol Jose and Manikandan. The film was also nominated for the Oscars in a number of categories, but it was not included in the list of final nominees.
