Ajay Devgn-starrer Raid (2018), which was released in the year 2018, will be remade in the Telugu language. As per reports, filmmaker Harish Shankar will be directing the crime flick.

"Harish Shankar recently visited Mumbai to lock a few things related to Raid's Telugu version. He also met Kumar Mangat Pathak of Panorama Studios, who will be backing the Telugu version as well," a source close to the development told a leading entertainment portal.

"The makers are currently looking out for the lead actor who can fill in Ajay Devgn's shoes in the Telugu version. Everything is quiet in the initial stage, wait until they make an official announcement as Harish Shankar is also working on Pawan Kalyan's Bhavadeeyudu Bhagatsingh, a much-awaited collaboration after blockbuster Gabbar Singh," the same source added.

For the uninitiated, Raid is a crime film based on the real-life income-tax raid conducted by the officers of the Income Tax Department on Sardar Inder Singh in Lucknow in the 1980s. The raid distinguished itself from others for being the longest raid in Indian history, lasting three days and two nights.

Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, the film was backed by T-Series and Panorama Studios and starred Ajay Devgn, Saurabh Shukla, and Ileana D'Cruz in lead roles. Its lifetime global gross collection of Rs. 153.62 crore against a budget of Rs. 42 crore made it a critically and commercially successful venture.
